One of the best parts of going to the movie theater is getting to see the previews for all the movies that will be coming out soon. I always make sure to get there early to be sure I will get to see all the previews. How else would I know what to see next?
In recent times, authors have started creating trailers for their new books. These trailers function like a movie trailer or the blurb on the back of the book. It tells readers what the book is going to be about to music. Just like a movie trailer. The images and words played across the screen create buzz and excitement about the new book. Book trailers are short, they don't need to be long to create excitement, but they are also effective. They create buzz which is exactly what they were meant to do.
Abbi Glines is a New York Times bestselling author. She has dozens of books out that are mostly romance and suspense novels. Glines's latest novel launched December 14, 2020. Just in time for a Christmas present. To help create buzz for this book, Glines put out a book trailer (linked below). Instead of telling you all about this wonder book, I am sharing the trailer.
The trailer was the perfect introduction to this book and gave just enough information to make you want to read it. The music playing in the background set the tone for the novel.
The point of this is that everyone should go and read Abbi Glines's new book, but also to show that book trailers are a brilliant idea and all authors should take advantage of this. People have short attention spans. Giving them one minute of video content to promote a book is the perfect way to hook new people in.
Review of this book coming soon! Hope you'll be reading too.

P.S. Katie McGarry is another author who has effectively used book trailers to promote her novels.
